What is CHOICES?
CHOICES is a youth program designed to give youth the tools and skills to make healthy choices in their lives. The CHOICES Youth Program operates in Driftpile First Nation School and Swan River School targeting youth between the grades 6-8.
Program Goals
It is the expectation that students participating in the CHOICES Youth Program will learn that:
· They have a choice in the decisions they make
· They can make positive lifestyle choices
· There are logical consequences for their actions.
Program Outcomes
· Enhanced self esteem; sense of value, usefulness and potency
· Positive coping skills and behaviors
· Understanding the need for higher education
· Positive peer and family relationships
· Academic and employability skills.

· Effective communication and decision making skills
· Healthy lifestyles
· Effects of substance abuse
· Effects of Gang membership and violence
· What victims of crime endure physically, emotionally and financially
